Ashwagandha is a Sanskrit name, where Ashwa means horse and Gandha means smell. As ashwagandha roots have an odour like a horse, also it says that the consumption of ashwagandha gives you energy like a Horse.


It is also known as “winter cherry”. Its botanical name is Withania Somnifera.
